Pigeon Point Light, California (Infrared). On a slightly blustery February afternoon with broken clouds, I waited until a beam of sunlight broke through to put a beautiful glow on this classic lighthouse. The (false) colors of an infrared image capture the resulting splendor.

Sadly, this historic structure has deteriorated so much that the public is not even allowed to go near it, let alone inside. Let's hope that a local effort to restore it succeeds!
