Windstone Arch, Nevada ©2019 James D Peterson. This is one of the countless arches in Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park. Actually, it's a misnomer to call this an arch (singular), since there are at least six separate windows visible in this photo (and there was another one to my left that's not within the frame). The unique erosion behavior of the red sandstone in this area frequently leads to caves or hollows with multiple openings in the boulders or cliffs. There's no place like it.
