Cracked-Egg-at-Daybreak1.jpg
Cracked Egg at Daybreak. No, this isn’t really an item on a breakfast menu. The cracked eggs (sometimes also called the dinosaur eggs) are found around a mile into the Bisti Badlands, and are thus often the first of many outlandish rock forms that folks encounter there. I used my full spectrum camera to capture this one as the sun was rising one fall morning, and the infrared light that camera can capture added nicely to the warm sunrise glow. Mother Nature kindly tossed in an incandescent sky for good measure.
Tech info: Nikon D800E camera (converted for full spectrum capture) with Nikon 28-300mm lens at 28mm, 1/640 sec. at f/11, ISO 500
