Cathedral-Rock-by-Mystical-Moonlight-Infrared.jpg
Cathedral Rock by Mystical Moonlight (Infrared). This is one of the most photographed rocks in the USA, and one of the most common angles from which to capture it (just south of Sedona, Arizona). But it’s not likely you’ve ever seen it like this before, since - if you’re reading this - you almost certainly don’t have infrared eyes. It was actually photographed in daylight, just before a winter sunset, but my infrared camera, collaborating with some artistic digital elves who clearly had their own ideas, turned it into a moonlit midsummer’s nighttime image.
Tech info: Nikon D3200 camera (modified for infrared with 590nm filter), Nikon 18-140mm lens at 18mm, 1/100 sec. at f11, ISO 200
