Moon over Bonanza Mine, Utah.  The aspens in the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City were a bit past their fall color peak when we visited there in early October.  But there were still patches of true brilliance, including this one surrounding an abandoned mine above Park City.  Illustrating how current times encroach upon the historic in these mountains, one of the area’s myriad ski lifts punctuates the sky above the mine, as does a cell tower.<br />
