Crab Spider on Lupine, Colorado. I was busy chasing columbines in the mountains above Crested Butte when I came across this guy (or gal?). It was very busy, actively moving around these flowers, making it a pretty elusive subject for photos. At one point, it appeared to be trying to snip away a petal and carry it down to the ground (perhaps to build an egg case?).
I’m fairly sure it’s a species of crab spider, but I’m not positive, and spider identification guides online seem to be pretty incomplete. If anyone out there can help come up with a positive identification, please let me know.
