Cypress near Fort Fisher (Infrared). This tree resides along a trail on a windswept hill between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. Its roots have been exposed by storms and, probably, foot traffic which slowly wear away the sandy soil. But it was happy to show off its rugged anatomy for a portrait captured by my ever-attentive infrared camera.
