American Eagle Gothic.  Looking very much like the sort of painting that Grant Wood might have created if he had ever chosen to paint raptors, this pair of bald eagles was hanging out on a cliff overlooking Lake Pleasant when we shambled slowly by (in a small boat) down below.  They were probably contemplating the young they would be raising in the next few months, and were keeping a stern eye on the intruders (us) visiting their fishing territory.  We returned the favor by pointing our long lenses at them, and they kindly gave us some nice poses and action shots.<br />
