Juniper along Templeton Trail (Infrared). The shape of this juniper, perched on a cliff overlooking Oak Creek, reflects its lifelong struggle against severe, arid conditions. It’s not likely to survive much longer, but its rugged skeleton will remain for many years to memorialize its tenacity and vitality.

This image was processed, with able assistance from my resident artistic digital elves, to emulate the look of Kodak's long-discontinued Aerochrome color infrared film.
