Chocolate Cascade at Arizona’s Grand Falls. With encroaching sunset shadows plus motion blurring from a long exposure, this detail shot of the state’s most famous waterfall, northeast of Flagstaff, becomes more of an abstract photo than a documentary. After a very wet winter storm had lingered over the Southwest for several days, far more water than I had ever seen previously was gushing through the Little Colorado River gorge.
