Jerome State Historic Park, Arizona (Infrared) ©2019 James D Peterson. Housed in the old Douglas mansion and with a commanding view of the Verde River Valley and the still snow covered San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff, this museum has a remarkable collection of memorabilia, artifacts, and information from the heyday of what was once a booming mining town. After the ore ran out, the town was mostly abandoned and falling into ruin, but it was then revived as an arts and historic destination. The (false) colors of this infrared photo, captured from the Sullivan Hotel, reveal details in this landscape that would otherwise be invisible.
