Grand Falls at Dusk, Little Colorado River, Arizona ©2017 James D Peterson. The Little Colorado River drains a large stretch of northeastern Arizona, but it is nonetheless dry for much of the year. Catching Grand Falls, northeast of Flagstaff, at its best thus requires a bit of timing. This panoramic image was made about 15 minutes after sunset when the spring thaw in the high country was supplying the flow.
