Looking Downstream (Infrared). The Jordan River (the one in Utah, not the one in the Middle East) flows northward through the Salt Lake Valley and empties into the Great Salt Lake. It is surrounded by Salt Lake City and its suburbs for most of its length, and was thus once highly polluted (though that has since been cleaned up to a considerable degree). Much of it is now bordered by parkland with walking and cycling paths, and it’s even visited by the occasional fisherman (seen in the lower right corner here).
