Riordan-Mansion-Flagstaff-Infrared1.jpg
Riordan Mansion, Flagstaff (Infrared). This 13,000 square foot (i.e., huge!) log structure is now an Arizona State Historic Park. It actually consists of two adjoining mansions connected by a common room; this image only shows about half of the total building. It was constructed in 1904 for the two Riordan brothers, lumber magnates who were married to a pair of sisters from the Metz family. They were all apparently big fans of family togetherness, so they built this double mansion to keep everyone under one roof. And being lumber barons, they showed off their wares by building it out of logs.<br />
