Aspen Titans near Hart Prairie. The lower reaches of the San Francisco Peaks, north of Flagstaff, Arizona, have patches of aspens that are as tall and dense as any I’ve seen anywhere. This image captures one such grove in a vertical, wide angle panorama. It mimics the look a fisheye lens would give and thereby conveys the scale and majesty of these towering, lanky hardwoods, which in early October were luxuriating in their fall plumage.
