Mansion on Front Street (Infrared). Beaufort is said to be the fourth oldest town in North Carolina, and was once also ranked as “America’s Coolest Small Town” by Budget Travel Magazine. So we expected to find some cool and historic sites there, and we weren’t disappointed. This classic Southern mansion is across the street from the town’s waterfront and has a fine view of Taylor Creek and Carrot Island. And the lush foliage really glows for you, if you have infrared eyes.
