Narrowleaf-Four-O-Clock-near-Oak-Creek.jpg
Narrowleaf Four O'Clock near Oak Creek. We’ve had a wildflower season this year (2020) around Sedona that has been unusually bounteous and long-lasting, and in fact was still in progress (though fading) in mid-June after about three months. The species in bloom have progressed over that time, but the late-bloomers are still afoot (and sometimes under foot as well). And I’ve seen varieties this year that I’ve never noticed previously.
This Narrowleaf Four O’Clock is one auspicious example. I found a small patch of them near the Templeton trail, in the Coconino National Forest shortly after a June sunrise.
