Rebound (Infrared).  Cacti are nothing if not resilient, as this saguaro illustrates so vividly.  They have no choice but to be, given the harsh environment in which they flourish.<br />

The central stem of this one was broken off long ago (probably a century or more), and it responded by sprouting a couple of new ones, each of which in turn has sprouted its own arms.  It resides along a trail in the Rincon Mountain District of Saguaro National Park, east of Tucson.  My infrared camera kindly stepped in to capture the invisible colors that our eyes would miss.<br />
