In the deserts of Arizona, we were spoiled last year (2019) by an exceptional season for spring wildflowers, the result of steady rains throughout the winter that year. The rains in 2020 haven’t quite matched those of 2019, but this patch of lupines and poppies, along North Lake Road in the Tonto National Forest, apparently missed that memo.
