Life Cycle of Mariposa Lilies. This elegant trio greeted us at dawn near the Baldwin trailhead south of Sedona. They were demonstrating the opening, blooming, and fading stages of their fleeting journey in this world, in celebration of the bounteous rains we had in Arizona over the preceding winter and into the springtime.
